Volunteer4Free Kenya

We are a free volunteer program based out of Nairobi, Kenya.  We offer 'voluntourists' an opportunity to immerse themselves in a new culture, make a difference in a developing country, and develop true friendships with like-minded individuals.

Join us in teaching English to children in Nairobi's Soweto slums, organizing games, and visiting patients at Kenya's main public hospital.  And do it all free of charge, i.e. no $1,000 placement fees! 

Opportunities:

• teach English to children at Nairobi's main public hospital (KNH)
• help children in Nairobi's Soweto slums learn to read*
• visit patients with few or no one to visit them
• organize games' days, e.g. checkers ('drafts'), etc.
• repair wheelchairs and crutches (necessary materials to be provided)
• immerse yourself in a new culture
• spend time helping people in need
• interact with people who share common interests and values
• get some 'field training' in acquiring a new language (Swahili)
• touch a neglected individual's life... and put a smile on both of your faces!

*V4FK is also discussing plans to work in another Nairobi slum next year in addition to Soweto.

PS, it would be helpful if enquirers could submit some sort of backgroud police report when inquiring due to the nature of our work, i.e. with children.  Thank you.
